Final work at the Breeders' Cup

A strong contingent from Qatar Racing is set to run and has been working ahead of the two-day meeting which starts tomorrow.

On a beautiful autumn morning on Wednesday, jockey Jamie Spencer took a spin on his Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf (12.43pm local time - 19.43 UK time) mount Just The Judge (pictured), who will be joined in the line-up by Secret Gesture, the mount of Ireland's champion jockey Pat Smullen. Just The Judge, who is set to appear at Tattersalls' December Sale early next month, is owned in partnership with the Sangster Family and is trained by Charlie Hills, while Secret Gesture, who is jointly-owned by Newsells Park Stud, is in Ralph Beckett's yard.

Runners carrying Qatar Racing colours and taking part on Friday are Wet Sail (Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (14.25 - 21.25)) and War Alert (Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies' Turf (15.50 - 22.50)) who will both be ridden by Spencer.

On Saturday, in addition to Just The Judge and Secret Gesture, Qatar Racing will also be represented by Wind Fire (Breeders' Cup Sprint (16.01 - 23.01)) and Trade Storm (Breeders' Cup Mile (16.40 - 23.40)), who are also lining up under Spencer.

Trade Storm points his toe ahead of his Saturday assignment

Trade Storm recently won the Gr.1 Richoh Woodbine Mile in Canada. Trainer David Simcock said: "The draw is not too significant for him due to his style of racing - we will need plenty of luck, but he is in good order and I am looking forward to it!"

He is not alone.

Coverage of both days of the Breeders' Cup is being shown live in Britain on At The Races - Channel 415.
