Halation won the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Mile (14.40), scoring by half a length under the Great Britain and Ireland team captain Jamie Spencer, but it was not enough to prevent a Girls team comprising Emma-Jayne Wilson, Hayley Turner and late call-up Sammy Bell, winning the overall competition.

Qatar Racing also won a race at Kokura in Japan during the early hours of Sunday morning (UK time) when the newcomer Pearl Future landed a maiden race. A son of Neo Universe, purchased by David Redvers and trained by Mitsu Nakauchida, Pearl Future won Yen 7,000,000 - the equivalent of £36,000 - not bad for a first effort.

Today at the Curragh the team runs three horses, including Beach Belle, who represents Kevin Prendergast's stable in the Gr.3 Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club Phoenix Sprint over six furlongs. Beach Belle wears a visor for the first time, and will appreciate any further rain that falls.
