Hot Streak retires to Tweenhills

• Outstanding two-year-old and top-class three-year-old

• Highest-rated runner by Iffraaj

The highest-rated son of Iffraaj will join the roster of Qatar Bloodstock stallions, standing alongside Harbour Watch and Havana Gold.

Hot Streak was an outstanding two-year-old and a top-class three-year-old, winning Group races and being placed at the highest level in both campaigns.

As a two-year-old he was officially rated higher than the likes of Oasis Dream, Dark Angel, Invincible Spirit, Showcasing and Zoffany. A winner on debut, he beat subsequent Group One winner Mecca's Angel next time out when landing York's Listed Roses Stakes. In the colours of Qatar Racing he went on to demolish his rivals in Ascot's Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes, and, just seven days later, to finish runner-up - beaten only half a length - in the Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket.

Timeform said of the Cornwallis victory: 'Totally imperious in dismissing some useful opposition, producing one of the very best performances by a 2-y-o this year . . . stood out on physique beforehand, a strapping sprinting type'. It added: 'Hot Streak recorded a time figure matched only by Frankel (in the 2010 Dewhurst) among two-year-olds in recent seasons.'

At three he was an impressive winner of the Gr.2 Temple Stakes (above), a victory that split two excellent efforts when a close third behind winner Sole Power in the Gr.3 Palace House Stakes and Gr.1 King's Stand Stakes.

Hot Streak achieved a BHA official rating high of 117, and one of 122+ from Timeform. He hails from the world-class family of blue hen Height Of Fashion and sire sensation Deep Impact.

Tweenhills Farm and Stud manager David Redvers said: "He produced the fastest breeze at Tattersalls Breeze-Up Sale, and so it was no great surprise he proved he had speed to burn on the racetrack. He comes from one of the best families in the book, one that has produced the super sire Deep Impact. He makes a stunning addition to the stallions in the Qatar Bloodstock portfolio, and is a hugely exciting young sire for commercial breeders."

Hot Streak made a lasting impression on the jockeys who rode him. Jamie Spencer said: "Hot Streak was a very fast and talented two-year-old who showed his durability by racing five times in seven weeks. He held his form all season, ending with his second in the Middle Park having won the Cornwallis just seven days earlier."

While Oisin Murphy said of Hot Streak's win in the Gr.2 Temple Stakes: "Nothing could give him a lead because they weren't quick enough. He won easily."
