Lyons gives upbeat report on Endless Drama

The colt produced a storming effort to finish three-quarters of a length second to Gleneagles in the Gr.1 Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas, opening up a number of exciting options for the season ahead. Ridden by Andrea Atzeni, he carried the colours of Sheikhs Khalifa and Suhaim and Qatar Racing.

Writing on his Facebook pages, Lyons said: "The big one we all call ED didn't let me down and ran as expected, only to be beaten by the high class Gleneagles. As long as it's not too firm at Royal Ascot I would hope his next start will be in the St James's Palace Stakes [in which he is likely to meet Gleneagles again]. He ate up well last night and seems in rude health this morning."

Lyons then looked ahead to a trip to Germany tomorrow when he plans to run Cappella Sansevero in the Gr.2 Melh Mulhens-Rennen, or German 2,000 Guineas.

He said: "I will be getting on the horse plane with Cappella Sansevero at 6am in the morning, so I doubt I'll be able to post a blog as we will be very busy. As long as the ground isn't too firm over there I think we have a fighting chance in the German 2,000 Guineas tomorrow evening at Cologne. Having our third runner in a Guineas in three days is a bit like Dublin buses - we wait a long time for one then three come along at once!

"Exciting times for us all here at Glenburnie."

Another potential Stakes winner for Qatar Racing lines up at Longchamp today. Rising Sun, who is trained by Mikel Delzangles and is unbeaten in two runs, tackles the Listed Prix de l'Avre under Umberto Rispoli.
