Mountain Bell steps up in trip and grade when tackling today's Listed Betfred Mobile Oaks Trial Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield (15.25).

A traditional test for fillies with the potential to run in next month's Investec Oaks at Epsom, today's race is run over a trip just shy of 12 furlongs. Mountain Bell, who is trained by Ralph Beckett (pictured left in conversation with David Redvers) for Qatar Racing, scored by ten lengths on her first start of the season over ten furlongs at Windsor, and her trainer is confident she will cope with the additional distance. He knows the race well, having won it three times in the past ten years.

Jockey Oisin Murphy, who won on her last time out when the going was soft, says: ‚"She definitely won't mind better ground and she should go another two furlongs, as her family suggests.‚"

A €46,000 purchase by David Redvers at Baden-Baden's September yearling sale, the filly's dam was unraced but closely related to several winners at middle distances.

The only other European runner this weekend is the Ger Lyons-trained Queen Catrine, who runs tomorrow for a Qatar Racing partnership in Leopardstown's Gr.3 Amethyst Stakes.
