Eighteen ran, and the Andrea Atzeni-ridden six-year-old, winner of last month's Gr.2 Temple Stakes at Haydock, was beaten less than a length by winner Goldream. Pearl Secret was drawn in stall 17, while Goldream was drawn in three and runner-up Medicean Man lined up in stall one.

Reflecting on the race, David Redvers, racing manager to Qatar Racing said: "He's run an absolute blinder - he was on the wrong side and didn't have anything to take him into the race. In the last furlong he's made up more ground than any of his rivals, and in an extra half a furlong would have won.

"There is a possibility we will back him up in the [Gr.1] Diamond Jubilee Stakes [over six furlongs]. We'll see how he comes out of the race."

Two other Qatar Racing horses ran in the race, but Wind Fire could do no better than fifteenth, two places ahead of Hot Streak. Redvers said: "Wind Fire wasn't good enough on the day, and it seems Hot Streak would have preferred easier ground."

Opal Tiara, who races in the colours of Qatar Racing and The Sweet Partnership, finished seventh of 27 in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes.

Wednesday's Royal Ascot runner for Qatar Racing is Aces in the Jersey Stakes (14.30), while Lightning Thunder runs for Pearl Bloodstock and Mohammed Al Kubasi in the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes (15.40).
