It will be the Sheikh's second race ride, following one at Limerick last year when he rode Captain Morley (pictured) - this time he will partner the James Fanshawe-trained Landwade Lad, who is being leased for the event. It takes place at the second Prince's Fund Charity Raceday, inspired by Prince Charles and which raises money for people who live and work in Britain's countryside.

Landwade Lad has been a consistent performer with a rating high of 90 - he won at Kempton last year and has been placed in a further seven of 13 races. Among the other seven riders tomorrow are PR specialist John Maxse, event rider Catherine Burrell and Richard Hannon's racing secretary Lindsey Avis.

Sheikh Fahad said: "I am really looking forward to riding at Ascot. I have been training hard, riding out regularly and trying to follow the advice of Qatar Racing's resident jockey coach, Kevin Darley.

"It will be a real thrill to ride the track and it's for an excellent cause in the Prince's Countryside Fund."

The Sheikh will be following events around Europe ahead of his race ride, for Qatar Racing's runners tomorrow include Mr Owen, who tackles the Gr.3 Prix Edmond Blanc at Saint-Cloud (15.10), and Classic-placed Endless Drama, who lines up in the Curragh's Gr.3 Gladness Stakes (15.50).

Mr Owen, who is trained by Francois Rohaut, won a Listed race in France last year and was last seen finishing a close sixth of nine in the Gr.1 Woodbine Mile, while the Ger Lyons-trained Endless Drama is returning after taking second spot in last year's Gr.1 Irish 2000 Guineas.

Other European runners this weekend include Master Of Irony in today's Spring Mile (14.15) at Doncaster.
