Sprinters ready to fire

Both horses have been in good form this season, and finished first and third (pictured) in the Gr.2 Temple Stakes at Haydock in the spring. Pearl Secret then ran a fine race when fourth in the Gr.1 King's Stand Stakes over today's five-furlongs trip at Royal Ascot, and will like today's easy going far more than the good-to-firm ground he encountered in the Gr.1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

Pearl Secret, who has been pleasing trainer David Barron, has won twice at York and is the mount today of Oisin Murphy, while Jamie Spencer rides Wind Fire. She has run some super races in defeat this season, although her best form has been on a quick surface.

She ran a particularly good race against on good to firm when a close second to Waady in the Gr.3 Coral Charge at Sandown. Jamie Spencer rides the filly today for trainer David Brown, but both Qatar Racing's horses face some class acts.

The headliner is Acapulco, a raider from America and just two years old, so getting 24lb from Wind Fire and 27lb from Pearl Secret. She is ridden today by Irad Ortiz.

King's Stand winner Goldream, and Muthmir, who runs for in-form William Haggas, plus the filly Mecca's Angel and former winner Sole Power, are but four other rivals with serious chances.

The David Brown-trained newcomer Click And Roll (16.20) and handicapper Master Of Irony (16.55) are two further Qatar Racing runners at York today.
