Cappella Sansevero, who had been bought less than 24 hours earlier at Goffs London Sale in association with QIPCO, lined up in a field of 15 for the Gr.2 Coventry Stakes, and was beaten by just one horse, The Wow Signal, who is owned by Sheikh Joann's Al Shaqab Racing.

David Redvers, who manages Qatar Racing's interests, said of the Ger Lyon-trained Cappella Sansevero: "He's run very well and clearly got every yard of the trip. It was a hell of a race and the winner is obviously very good - well done to that team - but ours is a horse with a good future."

Hot Streak lined up for the King's Stand Stakes, and did best of the three-year-olds when finishing third behind Sole Power, who was landing the contest for the second year running.

Redvers said of the Kevin Ryan-trained Hot Streak: "He's run really well, but unfortunately Sole Power is different class on fast ground at this track. For a three-year-old he has put up a magnificent performance and there is a big day ahead for him."

Pearl Secret finished third in this race last year, but had to settle for tenth of the 16 runners, two places ahead of Green Door. Redvers said: "Pearl Secret has run well but just got tired near the finish. He's been doing a lot of his work on a treadmill, and may have just needed the run, while Green Door was badly in need of a run."

Peslier takes over on Lightning Thunder

David Redvers also revealed that Olivier Peslier will ride Lightning Thunder when she tackles Friday's Gr.1 Coronation Stakes.

Harry Bentley has ridden the filly in two previous races this season when she was second in both the QIPCO 1000 Guineas and Irish 1000 Guineas. Jamie Spencer is expected to ride Kiyoshi.
