On a big weekend for Qatar Racing, Lightning Spear will line up in the Gr. 1 Prix du Moulin at Chantilly on Sunday.

Fresh from landing his second Gr. 2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood, Lightning Spear has been supplemented for the Qatar Prix du Moulin. Again standing in Lightning Spear's way will be Ribchester, but our horse got within three quarters of a length of that colt in the Gr. 1 Sussex Stakes last month and he's entitled to take his chance again. It looks a typically top-quality renewal of the Moulin, but Lightning Spear is in rude health following his latest win, his confidence high, and we're expecting a big run.

There are a whole host of Qatar Racing runners across Saturday and Sunday, including four on the first day of Irish Champions Weekend at Leopardstown. They include Cannonball and True Valour, who go in the Gr. 3 KPMG Enterprise Stakes and Gr. 2 Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes respectively, while Frankel and Lightening Pearl's daughter Lightening Quick makes her debut in what is traditionally a strong fillies' maiden. The action switches to the Curragh on Sunday, when Frankel and Lightening Pearl's 3-year-old son Lightening Fast will run in a handicap and another colt trained by Ger Lyons, Lethal Steps, will take his chance in the Gr. 1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes.

Also in Stakes action on Saturday is Chemical Charge, who holds a favourites chance in the Gr. 3 toteplacepot September Stakes at Kempton. He's been wonderfully consistent over his career so far, and his last 2 efforts have probably been his best yet, finishing third in the Gr. 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and then winning easily at Musselburgh. What's more, his two previous starts on the all-weather saw him win a Lingfield novice and finish a close second in a Listed race over the same CandD he faces on Saturday.
