Qatar Racing's 3-year-old colt True Valour steps up in class on Monday as he contests the Listed Tetrarch Stakes over seven furlongs at Naas.

Trained by Johnny Murtagh, who won the Tetrarch Stales as a jockey in 2012, True Valour gained his reward for some good efforts as a 2-year-old - including finishing a short-head second to the future Gr. 1 Dewhurst Stakes runner-up Lancaster Bomber - when making a winning return in a maiden at Limerick nine days ago. After having to overcome waiting for a gap, the son of Kodiac showed a professional attitude that day, and with just four starts behind him, he is open to further improvement.

In a race won by the subsequent Gr. 1 Irish 2000 Guineas winner Awtaad last year, the one to beat could be Ballydoyle's Peace Envoy whose three wins last year included the Gr.3 Anglesey Stakes at the Curragh.
