Having recently joined the stallion ranks at Tweenhills in Gloucestershire, Hot Streak has had his first mare covered scanned in foal.

The mare in question is Breedj, a daughter of champion sire Acclamation and the Indian Ridge mare Kildare Lady. She was a very quick two-year-old who finished runner-up in the Listed Marygate Stakes at York on her second start.

Owned by Patrick Cosgrove, she was scanned in foal at Tweenhills, where Hot Streak is one of three sires standing under the Qatar Bloodstock banner.

He too found success at York, making a winning debut there as a two-year-old before returning to land his first Stakes victory in the Listed Roses Stakes - in which he beat the top-class filly and subsequent Group One winner Mecca's Angel. He followed that with a blistering display in the Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes at Ascot, prompting Timeform to state: 'Hot Streak recorded a time figure matched only by Frankel (in the 2010 Dewhurst) among two-year-olds in recent seasons.'

Trainer Kevin Ryan was no less impressed, and said: "He is without a shadow of doubt the best I've trained."

Hot Streak, who subsequently won the Gr.2 Temple Stakes and was placed in the Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes at two and Gr.1 King's Stand Stakes at three, stands at a fee of £7,000 (Oct 1, SLF).
