The partnership between Qatar Racing and Tony Parker’s Infinity Nine Horses, successful with Mangoustine in the 2022 Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches, was on the mark again on Wednesday when 3yo Quasar made a winning start at Toulouse.

Sent off at just over 8/1, Quasar was always handy in the hands of Damien Boche and powered clear to win by 1¾ lengths from 10 rivals. The first three in the market followed him home, headed by favourite Sevenday.

Quasar hit the line strongly over 1m and looks open to plenty of improvement for trainer Ludovic Gadbin.

He’s by Showcasing out of Le Havre mare Qatar Power, who was a French 1m Listed winner in 2016 for Sheikh Abdullah Bin K. Al Thani. Qatar Power had a Kameko filly sell for €135,000 at the Arqana Deauville October Yearlings Sale and will be offered at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale in May.
