Qatar Racing's 8 to Follow competition transfer window closes at midnight tonight (Wednesday, June 22), so hurry if you want to make adjustments to your stable.

With a first prize of £10,000, and good money down to fifth place, a transfer today could pay off in the long run.

The transfer window gives contestants the chance to bring in and discard up to two horses per entry, while retaining four two-year-olds and four older horses per stable. Each transferred horse costs £5, and, as with all entry fees, the money goes to Racing Welfare, the charity that helps people in need in the racing and bloodstock industries.

For a list of horses eligible for transfer, and the latest points standings, click on the 8 to Follow logo on the home page of this website, or go to www.8tofollow.com.

The Mick Channon-trained Opal Tiara could become the latest points scorer when running in Carlisle's Listed Eternal Fillies' Stakes (16.10) this afternoon.

Unplaced in last week's Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot, Opal Tiara was squeezed for room at a vital stage of the race, and lost ground as a result. Jockey Oisin Murphy had to accept the decision, but the following day Channon was eyeing the Carlisle prize.

He says: ‚"Through no fault of her own she had a reasonably easy time and Oisin sensibly looked after her. She is the best filly in the race on ratings and has been showing positive signs of her wellbeing this week.‚"

Opal Tiara, who runs for Qatar Racing and The Sweet Partnership, is one of eight in the line up.
