Drama scratched from Rosehill feature

Endless Drama (right) will not be taking on the mighty Winx tomorrow at Rosehill Garden in Sydney after steady rain created heavy ground and he was scratched.

The pair, stablemates at Chris Waller's yard, were among 11 probable runners in the Aus$1m China Horse Club George Ryder (14.45 local time, 03.45 in UK) over 1500 metres. Winx, chasing her 16th straight win, now faces just six rivals.

Two Qatar Bloodstock runners are set to line up in handicaps at Flemington, with Hursley running over 10 furlongs (15.45, 04.45 in UK) and Portman lining up over a mile (17.45, 06.45).

Brad Rawiller rides Hursley who faces 10 rivals in a race worth $150,000, and although drawn on the outside of the field he comes into the race in top form. He was unlucky in running when second last time out over 1,800m and the extra distance should be no problem.

Portman was also second on his latest start. The Danny O'Brien-trained son of Makfi, who is also chasing a part of $150,000, will be ridden by claimer Ben Allen against 12 rivals. O'Brien says: ‚"The horse is in very good form. Had he not missed the start in his last race he would have won. He has drawn well and is a worthy favourite.‚"

At Cheltenham today Pearl Bloodstock's Current Event was unplaced in the Foxhunter Chase victory went to Pacha Du Polder, who was ridden by Bryony Frost while at Lingfield, Qatar Racing's Bless Him made a satisfactory start to his career when runner-up in a maiden race.
