Flower latest juvenile to run for Qatar Racing
The daughter of Shamardal runs in the opening race, the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies' Maiden (17.05) for the stable of Ger Lyons (pictured, in pale raincoat). Colin Keane rides the filly, who was a €110,000 yearling purchase at Goffs by David Redvers. Her dam won over a mile as a two-year-old, was a half-sister to a Listed winner and out of a half-sister to Gr.1 1000 Guineas winner Lahan.
A forward filly, foaled on February 18, Wayside Flower has pleased Lyons in advance of her first outing, and, while a draw in stall 14 of 15 is not ideal, the experience of a race will do her no harm.
Rivals include the Adrian Murray-trained Fast Watch, a member of the first crop sired by Qatar Bloodstock stallion Harbour Watch, who stands at Tweenhills in Gloucestershire.
