Classic-placed colt Blue De Vega (right) runs at Leopardstown this afternoon when returning from a lengthy break to run in a Listed race.

His stablemate, Spy Ring, tackled that level of race yesterday when second in the 'Bosra Sham' Fillies' Stakes at Newmarket, and trainer Michael O'Callaghan will be hoping Blue De Vega can go one place better in the Knockaire Stakes (15.05).

Unraced due to a minor injury hold-up since he finished unplaced at Royal Ascot, Blue De Vega was third to Awtaad in the Irish 2000 Guineas in May. The colt drops back in trip to seven furlongs for today's test against 12 rivals, but O'Callaghan says: ‚"Going back to the Guineas he was the last horse off the bridle and he travelled so well.

‚"I am very happy with him he is moving well, looks really well and healthy.‚"

On the same card Pearl Bloodstock's Chapter Seven runs in a handicap (16.15). His formline does not show an outing last Sunday when he finished second in a fund-raising race at Aintree under Qatar Racing manager David Redvers.

Also in action today, but carrying Clipper Logistics colours, is Musical Jewel, who is owned in partnership with Qatar Racing. She tackles the closing maiden (17.25).
