Dreaming Of Paris won a Kempton maiden in good style for Qatar Racing yesterday.

It was the three-year-old's third start in a month, and after two promising efforts when third at Lingfield and Kempton she was sent back to the Sunbury track and won in good style. Ridden by Joe Fanning for trainer William Haggas (pictured right), Dreaming Of Paris scored by one and three-quarter lengths and one and a half lengths from the Marco Botti-trained Driver's Girl and Jonny Portman's Mayflair.

Haggas said: ‚"Joe said that although Dreaming Of Paris has had a couple of quick runs she seemed very settled and didn't do an awful lot wrong.

‚"She travelled well, up with the pace, and didn't have too hard a race. He felt that she would get further, and she's very honest.‚"

Owen in Dubai

Mr Owen, who has been in Dubai for the past two weeks, could soon be in action at Meydan.

Qatar Racing's five-year-old has pleased trainer Francois Rohaut since arriving in the country, and he could be seen in the next week tackling a Group Two event over 1,800m (nine furlongs) on turf.

Mr Owen was last seen in a race in late November, when he ran out a convincing winner of a Listed race at Deauville.

Hot Streak's first foal

The first foal by Qatar Racing's top-class sprinter Hot Streak has been born at a stud in Ireland.

A filly, she was foaled earlier this week by the Listed-winning mare Breedj at Pat Cosgrove's County Meath farm. Breedj has bred two foals of racing age, and both have won.

Hot Streak was a brilliant two-year-old who also proved his mettle at three for trainer Kevin Ryan he won his first start, and quickly followed up with a Listed victory in which he beat the dual Gr.1 Nunthorpe Stakes heroine Mecca's Angel. Later that year he won Ascot's Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes and was second in the Gr.1 Middle Park Stakes, beaten half a length.

At three he won the Gr.2 Temple Stakes at Haydock and was then third in the Gr.1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Hot Streak, a son of Iffraaj, will stand his second season at Tweenhills Stud for a fee of £6,000.
