Harbour Watch colt wows Fairyhouse

Lot 119 became the most expensive yearling to sell by the young sire at auction when fetching €120,000 - the day's second-highest price. He was consigned by Brendan Holland's Grove Stud and bought by trainer Joseph Tuite and owner Tony Byrne, who recently teamed up to land Europe's richest handicap, York's Ebor, with Litigant.

The buyers, who were advised by bloodstock agent Stephen Hilllen, were pushed to the six-figure sum by trainer Ger Lyons, who also enjoyed a big winner recently when landing Tattersalls Ireland's Super Auction Sales race with Glass House, who is owned by Qatar Racing.

Tuite said: "Tony really loved this horse. He is by an unproven stallion, but he is a gorgeous horse with a great walk."

A packed Tattersalls Ireland ring takes a keen interest in the Harbour Watch colt's sale

Harbour Watch, an unbeaten two-year-old who was prevented from racing after his first season due to injury, stands at Tweenhills Farm and Stud in Gloucestershire. He is a paternal half-brother to very promising young sire Dark Angel, the pair being sons of Acclamation.
