Homebred Emotion wins by 16 lengths!
Qatar Racing homebred Emotion, a three-year-old filly by Frankel out of Gr.1 winner Molly Malone, absolutely destroyed her rivals in a Kempton novice on Wednesday and looks destined for much better races.
Emotion had made her debut in a hot Sandown novice, won by her stablemate Emily Upjohn who is fighting out favouritism for the Gr.1 Oaks at Epsom on Friday 3 June.
Emotion (an Oaks entry herself) had clearly learnt plenty from that experience as she looked a totally different filly just 12 days on at Kempton. She was given a very positive ride by Qatar Racing's retained rider Cieren Fallon and never saw another rival.
Emotion predictably had no issue with going a mile and a half – her dam won the Prix du Cadran over two and a half miles on testing ground – and her raking stride looks a huge asset.
We will leave plans to John and Thady Gosden but it would be nice to think she could be up to getting some black type later in the season.
Emotion is a half-sister to Gr.2 winner over an extended mile and a quarter, Morgan Le Faye. Emotion has started her career before both Morgan Le Faye and Molly Malone – Group winners aged five and four respectively – and she looks an exciting filly.
