Kittow's concerns dispelled by Proctor
A win for Qatar Racing's Proctor at Sandown Park yesterday evening is a good omen for the organisation's Jack Flash at Leopardstown today.
The Stuart Kittow-trained Proctor won a seven-runner handicap by four and a half lengths under Oisin Murphy, breaking his duck after three runs in which he had displayed a steadily progressive profile. Kittow (pictured below) was concerned in advance that some of his horses had not been showing their best, but Proctor, a three-year-old son of Qatar Bloodstock stallion Makfi, dispelled any doubts.
Ger Lyons would be delighted to see a similar margin of victory for two-year-old Jack Flash, who runs in the opening race (17.50), a maiden, on the Leopardstown card.
He was a close second over five furlongs on his latest start, when a tardy break from the stalls did not help his cause. It is thought the experience did him good, although Lyons has a question mark in his mind over tonight's trip of six furlongs. A son of Dark Angel, Jack Flash was knocked down to David Redvers Bloodstock at Arqana's August yearling sale last year.
