Goldmember tries two miles for the first time today when lining up in Newmarket's Listed Jockey Club Rose Bowl (16.15).

Qatar Racing's three-year-old was one of ten declarations for the test, but four horses had been withdrawn by noon today, many on account of ground that appears quicker than expected. Goldmember, who is trained by David Simcock, won at Thirsk in May, and ran well enough in his next two races when not beaten far at Newmarket and Goodwood.

A tongue tie will be fitted today, following a below-par effort at Goodwood last month, and Oisin Murphy is in the saddle once more.

Also running for Qatar Racing today is Blitz, the Johnny Murtagh-trained filly who lines up in a 17-runner maiden (13.25) at the Curragh. Niall McCullagh rides.
