A colt who shone at the yearling sales (pictured below) could make his debut for a Qatar Racing partnership at Leopardstown this evening (18.00).

World War, who is owned with China Horse Club and Triermore Stud, is a son of champion sire Galileo out of Jacqueline Quest, who was first past the post in the 1000 Guineas but disqualified for impeding a rival. Her son was offered at Tattersalls' October Sale Book 1 last year when bought by David Redvers and China Horse Club for 1,200,000gns.

He is now in training with Ger Lyons, who has said he will walk Leopardstown this evening before giving the final go-ahead to run the colt, although he is pleased at World War's progress ahead of his debut run.

Rivals include another son of Galileo called Douglas Macarthur, who is a half-brother to Oaks winner Was, to the 5m gns yearling filly Al Naamah and is from the family of Derby winner and sire New Approach. Trained by Aidan O'Brien, he finished last of six runners on debut, but is very likely to be a lot more street wise on his second appearance.

The horse that won Douglas Macarthur's first race, Currency Convertor, is an interesting contender in a very competitive Gr.3 JRA Tyros Stakes on the same card. The six-strong field also contains Qatar Racing's Ready To Roc, who has been crying out for a quick surface since winning on debut at Dundalk, and could get it this evening.

Connor King rides the Johnny Murtagh-trained Ready To Roc, and Colin Keane partners World War.

Qatar Racing's Classic-placed Endless Drama got back on the winning trail at Naas last night when comfortably landing a conditions race.
