Trainer Olly Stevens will confirm Lightning Thunder for Sunday's Etihad Airways Irish 1000 Guineas (3.55) after considering ground conditions, while the sprinters could be heading to Haydock for Saturday's Gr.2 Betfred Temple Stakes, which forms part of the QIPCO British Champions Series.

Stevens, who said Harry Bentley will retain the ride on Lightning Thunder, added that he is happy to wait until Royal Ascot's Gr.1 Coronation Stakes if the going in Ireland is softer than ideal.

The Kevin Ryan-trained Hot Streak, who has shown a liking for ground with cut in it, will appreciate any rain that falls, and he ran a fine race when third to Sole Power in Newmarket's Gr.3 Pearl Bloodstock Palace House Stakes on his most recent run. Pearl Secret, from David Barron's stable, finished eighth in the same race, albeit he was little more than three lengths behind the winner, and as a Group One performer there is more to come.
