Roaring Lion top 3yo in Longines World Rankings
Roaring Lion has been rated the best three-year-old in the world in 2018 in the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings.
Roaring Lion was given a rating of 127 for his season which included four Gr. 1 wins, culminating in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions Day at Ascot.
Roaring Lion rated 2 lb higher than US Triple Crown winner Justify, and 3 lb ahead of multiple Japanese Gr. 1 winner Almond Eye, though obviously she is a filly and would therefore have received an allowance in a mythical racecourse meeting with Roaring Lion maybe she'll have a date with him in the breeding shed one day!
The only horse in Britain rated higher than Roaring Lion was his stablemate Cracksman who was 3-year-old when winning his second Champion Stakes on the same card. Unsurprisingly, the best female in the world was Winx, with another superstar mare, Enable, second in that category.
Roaring Lion stands alongside five other Qatar Racing-owned or part-owned stallions at Tweenhills Stud in Gloucestershire, namely Zoustar, Charm Spirit, Havana Gold, Lightning Spear and Hot Streak.
