Sha Tin next for traveller Trade Storm

The location means he will be taking part in his fifth country this year following races in Dubai, Britain, Canada and the USA. Consistent throughout, his highlight came when winning September's Gr.1 Ricoh Woodbine Mile under Jamie Spencer.

More recently he was an excellent staying-on third behind Karakontie in the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita.

The six-year-old is trained in Newmarket by David Simcock for Qatar Racing, whose racing and breeding manager, David Redvers, said: "It is very much the plan for Trade Storm to contest the Hong Kong Mile. He has been a real flag bearer for Qatar Racing and has been running well all year.

"His last two starts in Canada and at the Breeders' Cup have to be considered as the best of his career. Hopefully, he will run another big race in Hong Kong."

Simcock added: "I am very happy with Trade Storm and it is all systems go with him for Hong Kong. He has been an absolute model of consistency this year."

The LONGINES Hong Kong Mile is one of four Gr.1 contests at the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races. The afternoon also features the HK$25 million LONGINES Hong Kong Cup (2,000m), the HK$16.5 million LONGINES Hong Kong Vase (2,400m) and the HK$18.5 million LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1,200m).
