Wag Tail heads Qatar Racing horses at sales
Jamie Railton handled the Qatar consignment, which was headed on price by Willie Wag Tail (pictured), a six-year-old gelded son of Theatrical who was knocked down to Horse France Ireland for 28,000gns.
He was followed into the ring by three-year-old colt Red Majesty (Acclamation) who made 16,000gns to a bid from agent Stephen Hillen and trainer Kevin Ryan, who had been his handler prior to his ring appearance.
Trainer John Jenkins paid 22,000gns for Belrog (New Approach), John Penny's 21,000gns offer secured the well-bred Royal Battalion (Sea The Stars), Pat Phelan bought Total Demolition (Thewayyouare) for 9,000gns just two days after the gelding had won at Kempton, while the unraced three-year-old filliesAbsent Lady (Lemon Drop Kid) and Marasil (Azamour) were sold for 10,000gns and 8,000gns respectively to trainer Ed Vaughan and Cymraeg Bloodstock.

Prior to the auction the Thoroughbred Breeders' Association held its annual stallion parade in Tattersalls' sales ring. Dunaden, who won three Group One races for Pearl Bloodstock, including Australia's Melbourne Cup, was among those on show ahead of his debut in the covering sheds at Gloucestershire's Overbury Stud. His fee is £3,000 October 1 SLF.
