2025 Qatar Racing Stallions Stud Fees Announced
Nomination fees for Qatar Racing's stallions standing at Tweenhills have been set for the 2025 breeding season, including for this year’s very exciting first-season sire Kameko.
Kameko will stand the 2025 breeding season at Tweenhills for £20,000 (Oct 1st SLF) following his success with his first crop of 2yos.
They are headed by Qatar Racing's Gr.1 Summer Stakes winner New Century and Gr.2 Royal Lodge winner Wimbledon Hawkeye, also placed in the recent Gr.1 Futurity Trophy Stakes.
The pair have official ratings of 110 and 114 respectively, among the best 2yos in Britain. Wimbledon Hawkeye is the highest-rated 2yo by a first-season sire in Britain in 2024.
Kameko’s 10 other winners include Stakes performers Hawksbill and Rajeko and impressive debut-winning fillies American Gal and Likely Perspective.
Kameko’s representatives in the sales ring include a full brother to New Century who sold for 1,000,000gns at the recent Tattersalls Book 2 Yearling Sale. He was consigned by Tweenhills and bought by Godolphin.
Kameko was a record-breaking Gr.1 winner at 2 and 3, his wins including the 2020 QIPCO 2000 Guineas in the fastest ever time. The son of Kitten’s Joy stood his first season in 2021 at £25,000, was £20,000 in 2022 and £15,000 in both 2023 and 2024.
Lightning Spear remains at £5,000 (Oct 1st SLF). The Gr.1 Sussex Stakes winner sired 75% winners to runners from his first crop.
This year’s scorers by Lightning Spear include Atlantic Gamble, who landed six handicaps across turf and AW, and 2yo Cartwheel who readily made all at Kempton in October. He’s also the sire of five-time winner Direct Hit and four-time winners Baileys Eclair and Royal Velvet.
Lightning Spear – a son of Pivotal – will stand his sixth consecutive breeding season at £5,000 and, like Kameko, represents outstanding value.
Qatar Racing racing manager David Redvers said: “We are delighted that Kameko has replicated his own performances on the track with his first runners, siring a Gr.1 winner as well as one of the top-rated 2yos in Europe.
“We have set his new fee at a rate that we believe will be incredibly attractive to all the best breeders in Europe and we look forward to welcoming them to Tweenhills in 2025.”
For the 2025 season we are proud to continue the ‘Your Success = Our Success’ scheme. Any breeder who produces a Stakes winner by a Qatar Racing owned stallion at Tweenhills will be offered a credit for use with any Qatar Racing-owned stallion in the following year to the value of the nomination paid.
