8 to Follow leaders feeling Fruity
Clive Cox's filly is entered to run at Doncaster or Newmarket on Friday (declarations will be known later this morning) and if she finishes in the top three there will be a new name in pole position. Bloodstock agent Bertie Butler currently shares that spot with George Oborne on 210pts, but the latter has Fruity in his selections, so even a third place (worth 5pts) will take his stable to the top.
Recent improvements to the 8 to Follow website (www.8tofollow.co.uk) mean that every entrant's stable can now be viewed. Simply find the OVERALL LEADER BOARD, then click on Full Table.
A drop-down list of all the stables will appear, and by clicking on each one further drop-down lists reveal the names of horses they contain.
Henry Rogers and Archie Pottinger, two others who are pressing for the top spot, also have Fruity on their side and will be hoping she wins and brings in a handy 20pts.
The Qatar Racing 8 to Follow competition raises money for the charity Racing Welfare (www.racingwelfare.co.uk), which provides help for people from the racing and breeding industries in need.
