Three-year-old filly Art House won the Gr.2 Sho Rose carrying the colours of Sheikh Fahad’s Pearl Bloodstock, as did her dam Pearl Code when runner-up in the Gr.1 Shuka Sho in 2016.

Art House has now won 3 of her 5 starts and looks set to attempt to go one better than her dam in the Gr.1 Shuka Sho.

Art House raced just behind the leaders in the Gr.2 Sho Rose over 2000m for three-year-old filles – a recognised trial for the Shuka Sho – and initially found plenty to lead before idling, allowing her nearest pursuer to close to within half a length at the line.

“I am happy that she showed improvement in this race,” said jockey Yuga Kawada after Art House had won the Sho Rose for trainer Mitsu Nakauchida, who also trained Pearl Code.

Art House, a daughter of Screen Code, had also won a Listed trial for the Japanese Oaks before finishing seventh in the Oaks itself.
