Bless The Broken wins Grade 2 Ladies Turf
Tuesday 8 September 2026
Bless The Broken made an immediate impact on grass on Saturday night when winning the $1,500,000 Resolute Racing Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Stakes.
The 4yo daughter of Laoban was purchased by Qatar Racing LLC, along with partners Mountmellick Farm and Hunter Valley Farm from last years November Fasig Tipton Sale. Placed in the care of the ever in form Brad Cox, her switch to turf proved to be a fruitful one for connections.
Bless The Broken arrived at Kentucky Downs off the back of 5 starts this season on dirt, including 3 Grade 1 placings. "She ran well on the synthetic surface before" commented Sheikh Fahad post race. "After the last race at Saratoga we spoke to Brad about trying her on turf and he wasn't opposed to it. So, we worked her on turf in Saratoga and she worked well. It's a race with a big purse, so we thought we'd give it a go". Bless The Broken's lifetime earnings currently stand at $1,635,985 and Group placings include a 3rd in last year's Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks.
