Cieren Fallon rides first winner for Qatar Racing
Cieren Fallon rode his first winner for Qatar Racing since being appointed second jockey to Oisin Murphy aboard Lost In Space at Newmarket on Saturday.
On just his second ride for Qatar Racing, Cieren Fallon got off the mark in the claret and gold with a smooth win on the John Gosden-trained two-year-old Lost In Space in the Close Brothers Motor Finance Nursery Handicap on the July Course over the weekend.
Trying ground softer than good for the first time, Lost In Space relished conditions to beat Zoffarelli by a length, with the pair well clear. Having won a novice at Lingfield on his previous star, the young colt is very much going the right way. As is his young jockey who once again showcased his talent, and showed the reason why Sheikh Fahad was keen to sign him up as second rider.
Despite only just losing his apprentice claim, Cieren Fallon is already a Gr.1-winning jockey having partnered Oxted to success in the July Cup on this same course in July.
The rider told Racing TV: "I'm delighted, it's an honour to be approached by Sheikh Fahad and the team - they've shown a lot of faith in me."
