The Edward Lynam-trained four-year-old has been a model of consistency, only once finishing out of the first four in 12 visits to the track. Last summer she rattled up a hat-trick of victories and ended the year with success in a Listed race at Dundalk.

A daughter of stallion Jeremy, she was bought by David Redvers Bloodstock for €42,000 at Goffs as a yearling, but has now won more than double that sum in prize money.

Yesterday, when ridden by Jamie Spencer in the colours of Qatar Racing, Pearl Of Africa could not reach the first two, Certify and L'Amour De Ma Vie, but was clear of fourth-placed Flotilla.

The next Stakes-race runner for Qatar Bloodstock Ltd is two-year-old filly Cautious (by Lonrho), one of ten runners in tomorrow's Gr.3 Mal Secull Chairman's Stakes at Caulfield (3pm, local time) in Australia. Trained by Robert Smerdon, Cautious was third of seven on her debut at the same track two weeks' ago when ridden by Craig Williams.

Ryan Maloney takes over in the saddle for tomorrow's Aus$135,000 race, although the likely favourite Nayeli, trained by Gai Waterhouse, will be hard to beat.
