Duffield, who also trained opening race winner Marsh Pride, was on hand to welcome Dark Reckoning and jockey Harry Bentley after the filly won the Ripon Horn Blower Conditions Stakes.

Yorkshire-based Duffield is pictured during last year's parade of yearlings at Tweenhills Farm and Stud and is showing obvious delight after being asked to train a daughter of Equiano - the youngster turned out to be Dark Reckoning, whose victory today followed on from a recent maiden success at Pontefract. Alongside is Bentley.

There was success for another branch of the Al Thani family's racing and breeding interests this afternoon when Astrelle chalked up another victory for her sire, Makfi, who is owned by Qatar Bloodstock and stands at Tweenhills Farm and Stud.

Bred in Italy by Agricola Gennaro Stimola, Astrelle recorded her second win of the season when taking the nursery at Newmarket for Marco Botti's stable.
