The Essex racecourse, formerly known as Great Leighs, reopened for business earlier this month as a venue for all-weather Flat racing. Willie Wag Tail, who is trained in Newmarket by Ed Walker, takes his place as one of five runners in the Fulton Restaurants Handicap (15.20) over a mile and six furlongs.

George Baker rides the six-year-old, while Hayley Turner partners Qatar Racing's other runner today, the Ralph Beckett-trained Hurricane Alert, who lines up at Kempton this evening in a maiden (17.45).

Both horses are entered in Tattersalls' February Sale on Thursday next week, with six-year-old Willie Wag Tail (Theatrical) entered as Lot 147, and three-year-old Hurricane Alert (Showcasing) as Lot 288 - Jamie Railton consigns the pair.
