Qatar Racing hombred 2yo colt New Century, who was conceived, born, raised and grazed at Tweenhills, improved plenty for going 7f when winning a novice at Doncaster on Friday. He became a fifth individual winner for our first-season sire Kameko.

New Century had shaped very well on debut and followed Ardeur, Del Ray, Rajeko and Wimbledon Hawkeye in becoming winners for Kameko.

New Century was very well backed for the Anthony Fletcher Takepayments EBF Novice Stakes over 7f at Doncaster and was always prominent under Oisin Murphy. He challenged Consolidation 1.5f out and showed an excellent attitude to draw clear. It looks a race to follow judged by the pedigrees on show.

New Century is the fifth foal out of winning Street Cry mare Potent Embrace. She’s also the dam of multiple middle-distance Stakes winner Passion And Glory and has a 2023 colt by Kameko too.

New Century is trained by Andrew Balding who, obviously trained his sire Kameko to win the Gr.1 Futurity Trophy as a 2yo, as well as being the fastest ever Gr.1 QIPCO 2000 Guineas winner.
