A filly very special to Qatar Racing, our homebred by Galileo out of Just The Judge, won her first race on Monday and there should be more to come…

Electress was born at Tweenhills and raised by a foster mare after the tragic demise of her dam in 2019. What’s more, her sire passed away in 2021 too. Naturally, it was very important to see her win and there were jubilant scenes around Qatar Racing headquarters when she scored under our retained rider Cieren Fallon this week.

Returned to a mile and a quarter on her first start for Archie Watson, she battled hard to win by three quarters of a length. She appreciated the juice in the ground and could be even better suited by a return to soft ground.

Electress promises to stay a mile and a half when the time comes but for now we are hopeful she can win again over 10 furlongs.

Just The Judge won the Gr.1 Irish 1000 Guineas and Gr.1 E.P. Taylor Stakes (over a mile and a quarter) and her three runners have all now won. Electress follows Swift Verdict and filly Nash Nasha, both of whom sold for seven-figures sums as youngsters, with the latter going on to win a Listed race for Godolphin.

Understandably, Electress is a highly valued broodmare prospect but, until that time comes, we hope she can continue to progress on the racecourse.
