Humanity storms to another easy win
Qatar Racing’s 3yo colt Humanity, by Roaring Lion, made a mockery of his opening handicap mark at Kempton on Wednesday and looks destined for much better things.
After winning a Lingfield maiden by 3¼ lengths, Humanity was sent off 7/4 favourite at Kempton and never looked like letting his supporters down. Getting across from a wide draw under Oisin Murphy, Humanity raced on the quarters of leader Big Team before pouring it on at the top of the straight. He won with 6 lengths to spare over fellow 3yo Sovereign Spirit, who was in turn 2¾ lengths clear of the third.
Humanity made an opening handicap mark of 82 look extremely lenient. He’s undoubtedly in for a hefty rise but there’s no telling where the ceiling of his ability lies. He's trained by John & Thady Gosden.
Humanity is from the only crop of our world champion Roaring Lion and, like his sire, was purchased on our behalf by David Redvers. Humanity was bred by Oceanic, A Gravereaux & Oti Management out of Arch mare Cheriearch, consigned by Capucines at the Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale and bought for €300,000.
Cheriarch was a Listed winner over 1m and has produced three Stakes performers in Welwal, Epistrophy and Chic Cherie, as well as two other winners aside from Humanity.
