Legends of War quickly back on track
Two-year-old Scat Daddy colt Legends of War quickly returned to winning ways in a novice at Newbury on Thursday evening.
The Compton Beauchamp Estates Ltd EBF Novice Stakes over six furlongs was only a 3-runner race in the end, and Legends of War won by just a head, but it was still his second win from three starts and he remains a colt with lots of potential.
Legends of War travelled smoothly in behind leader Motafaawit - who had won his only previous start - but when they went through the gears, his two rivals shifted to the near rail, leaving Legends of War to race alone in the centre of the track. This probably disadvantaged Legends of War and he will likely be better in a bigger field.
He was very relaxed before the race (pictured) and is a professional colt. He's also bred in the purple being by Scat Daddy and from the family of Gr. 1 winner Linngari.
Legends of War has plenty of options open to him for the rest of the season and a step back up in class beckons.
