Lyons hoping for Storm force at Curragh
Champions Weekend in Ireland continues at the Curragh today with three Group One races.
Qatar Racing is represented by just one runner, Savannah Storm, who lines up for Ger Lyons' stable in a valuable handicap (17.55) that closes the meeting.
Colin Keane rides the three-year-old son of Dubawi, who scored by a wide margin on heavy ground when winning at Roscommon in July, on only his second start. He had run promisingly at the Curragh on debut, and is held in high esteem by Lyons, who says: ‚"I've no doubt he's a Stakes horse with the right conditions [ease in the going]. I couldn't be happier with him.‚"
At Chantilly in France this afternoon Largent Du Bonheur tackles the Gr.3 Prix du Petit Couvert (12.55) he was fourth in a Listed race on his most recent outing, and trainer Mikel Delzangles is convinced anything he achieves this season as a three-year-old will be improved upon next season.
The Andrew Balding-trained Scorching Heat and Master Of Irony, from Ralph Beckett's stable, are both in action at Ffos Las this afternoon.
Qatar Racing's Now Or Never ran another fine race in hot company when fourth of eight in the Gr.1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes at Leopardstown yesterday.
