MAKFI OFF THE MARK AS A SIRE

The Mark Johnston-trained two-year-old filly was too quick for three fancied rivals in Musselburgh's British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden, beating the favourite, Al Ghuwariyah - who had the benefit of a previous run - by three lengths.

Mambo Paradise, a half-sister to Listed winner Earl Of Leitrim, was produced by the Southern Halo mare Mambo Halo, whose dam was a full sister to the brilliant Divine Proportions.

A big future beckons for Mambo Paradise, who must now be considered a candidate for honours at Royal Ascot.

Makfi stands at Tweenhills Farm and Stud (www.tweenhillsfarmandstud.co.uk) under the Qatar Bloodstock banner.
