Successful for British trainer Stan Moore at Chantilly, Cornwallville was claimed by trainer David Windrif following that victory, and ran for his stable in today's race.

Ridden by Flavien Prat, the colt won the Prix Saint-Crespin, a conditions race over six furlongs - beating an odds-on favourite in the process - and gave a big indication of Makfi's ability to breed toughness into his stock.

Bred by Corrin Stud and Blackwater Bloodstock, the colt is a first foal of the Cadeaux Genereux mare Morinqua, who was herself a Listed winner at two.

Makfi is owned by Qatar Bloodstock Ltd, and is one of three resident sires at Tweenhills Farm and Stud in Gloucestershire, where he stands alongside Harbour Watch and Havana Gold.
