Mr Owen lines up against just two rivals in the sunbets.co.uk Conditions Stakes at Wolverhampton on Monday evening.

Mr Owen, winner of a Listed race at Deauville on his latest outing, takes another step towards to the valuable All-Weather Mile Championships at Lingfield on Good Friday (March 30th) when facing two rivals at Wolverhampton.

Reported to be "fresh and happy" following his win in the Listed Prix Luthier at Deauville seven weeks ago, Mr Owen looks like having Arcanada to beat, with that gelding having beaten the other runner, Gabrial, on his last two starts. Mr Owen has to concede 3 lb to both his rivals, which won't be easy, but he's tactically uncomplicated and has a potent turn of foot, as he displayed in the Prix Luthier over seven and a half furlongs.

Mr Owen is also unexposed on the all-weather, with form figures on artificial surfaces of 2131. He's also had only three outings for David Simcock (previously with Francois Rohaut), getting right back to his best when a close third to Second Thought in the Listed Hyde Stakes at Kempton in November, and matching that form in the Luthier. Oisin Murphy takes the ride.

Depending on how he runs here, Mr Owen could take in the Gr. 3 Winter Derby over a mile and a quarter at Lingfield on Saturday February 24 en route to the AW Mile Championships.
