Trained by Peter Snowden and his son Paul, Pride Of Dubai, who is owned and was bred by Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, beat the 100/1 outsider Reemah with Lake Geneva in third.

Pre-race favourite Fontiton, like Thurlow trained by Robert Smerdon, held a challenging position in the straight but could not produce her usual turn of foot and finished fifth. Thurlow was eleventh under Craig Williams, although Smerdon's disappointment at the result was softened by a one-two for his stable in the Gr.1 Oakleigh Plate with Shamal Wind and Under The Louvre.

The Peter Moody-trained Betsy, Qatar Racing's runner in the Gr.3 Caulfield Autumn Classic, finished ninth of 13 runners.
