Ready to Roc in California
Horses from the draft of Qatar Racing and partnerships were popular once again when Tattersalls' Horses-in-Training Sale continued in Newmarket yesterday.
The pick on day two proved to be the Johnny Murtagh-trained Ready To Roc (pictured right), who was knocked down for 90,000gns to Californian racehorse owner Tim Cohen. A winner on debut, Ready To Roc had subsequently run well in defeat against some of this year's top two-year-olds.
He became Cohen's second Qatar Racing purchase at the sale on Monday he took Landwade Lad with a bid of 100,000gns.
Another juvenile who sold yesterday was the filly Scorching Heat from Andrew Balding's stable. She made 44,000gns to a bid from Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.
The sale continues today when the high-class sprinter Pearl Secret (Lot 1042) and very talented handicap sprinter Suzi's Connoisseur (1043) are both on offer.
Qatar Racing has two runners today Bybrook runs for David Simcock's stable at Nottingham (16.50) while the Murtagh-trained Golden State lines up at Dundalk (19.00)
