Sale day ahead of Stroll Patrol
The highest-rated of the quartet is Lightning Stride (Lot 341) - seen being trotted up at the sales earlier this morning - who won at Leicester earlier this year for Brian Meehan's stable and has finished second in his two most recent races.
Nova Champ (Lot 339), who won at Newmarket and Windsor earlier this season for Stuart Williams' stables, is being joined by his stablemate, Royal Birth (Lot 340), who landed a race at Wolverhampton on Boxing Day.
The final horse in the draft, Duelling Dragon (Lot 342) won over seven furlongs at Redcar last month for David Barron's stable, having finished second at the same track in July.
There will be further opportunities to buy well-bred horses owned by Qatar Racing at forthcoming sales held in Newmarket, France and Ireland - details will be posted on this site ahead of each auction.
Today's Dick Poole Stakes (16.20) at Salisbury has been upgraded from Listed to Group Three status and has attracted a quality field of two-year-old fillies.
Among the 14 who are due to line up is the Qatar Racing-owned Stroll Patrol, who is trained by Charlie McBride and ridden by Oisin Murphy. Unplaced in the Gr.3 Sweet Solera Stakes on her latest start, Stroll Patrol had won over today's trip of six furlongs on her previous start at Leicester.
McBride said: "After she ran at Newmarket this race was Jamie Spencer's suggestion. I know we are dropping back to six furlongs but think she has the speed for this trip."
