Restrained in rear by jockey Jim Cassidy, the three-year-old son of Northern Meteor was allowed to run past rivals as the field was led home by Tiger Tees. Qatar Bloodstock recently bought a share in the colt who is now owned in partnership with Antony Thompson's Widden Park Stud, where he will eventually take up stallion duties.

According to horseracing.com.au, Zoustar looked well following his mid-summer break, and and could be given one more barrier trial appearance before he returns to racing in the Gr.1 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Royal Randwick on March 15.

Also at that racecourse he is likely to take in the Gr.1 T J Smith Stakes (1200m) on April 12 before he has what could be his final race start in Australia in the Gr.1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) on April 26. A trip to Royal Ascot in June is also on his agenda.
