Shedaresthedevil - part-owned by Qatar Racing - overcame a troubled passage to win the Gr.3 Honeybee Stakes over a mile and one sixteeth on dirt at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas on Saturday.

Three-year-old filly Shedaresthedevil gained the biggest success of her career when winning the Honeybee, showing a smart turn of foot having been boxed in behind rivals until late on. Joe Talamo maneged to extricate Shedaresthedevil and she hit the line with three quarters of a length to spare over the hat-trick chasing Alta's Award.

Shedaresthedevil has now won two of her six starts, which also include placed efforts in the Gr.2 Sorrento Stakes, Listed Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes and Anoakia Stakes (Black Type). She is trained by Brad Cox and her other owners are Flurry Racing Stables LLC and Big Aut Farms.

She is by Daredevil and out of winner Starship Warpspeed, a daughter of Congrats. She changed hands for $280,000 from Hunter Valley Farm at the 2019 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Also over the weekend, old favourite True Valour finished fourth in the Gr.1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes at Santa Anita. A Gr.2 and Gr.3 winner at the same track last year, we think he deserves a breakthrough success at the highest level - fingers crossed!
