A first visit to South Africa's Cape Thoroughbred Premier Yearling Sale resulted in three purchases by Sheikh Fahad and his racing and bloodstock manager, David Redvers (pictured right).

The pick on price was a Klawervlei Stud-consigned Captain Al colt who was knocked down to Redvers for R4,500,000 he was foaled by the Oratorio mare Orator's Daughter, a dual Group Three winner in South Africa.

Staying by the ring, Redvers followed up by successfully buying the next lot into the ring, another Captain Al colt, this one from Drakenstein Stud. Produced by the Stakes-performing mare Pacific Dynasty, he fell to the buyer's R3,250,000 bid.
